I need sunshine! It’s what the red grape variety named Mourvèdre would sing… And in Bandol in Provence its wish is satisfied.
Bandol is one of the sunniest wine region in France. Facing the Mediterranean Sea and flanked on amphitheater-shaped terraces delimited by walls named “restanques”, Mourvèdre gives its best expression in terms of flavors, density but also elegancy.
Domaine Tempier is one of the founder families of the Bandol AOC. They produce impressive red wines with a huge ageing capacity. Usually they recommend to drink their wines only after 5 years. They were already aged minimum 18 months in big wood casks named foudres.
